Oklahoma Reciprocity
Oklahoma recognizes any valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit, valid military identification cards, and valid licenses issued by another state. If the state is a non-permitting carry state, Oklahoma will reciprocate under the permitting law of that state.
Anyone entering Oklahoma in possession of a firearm authorized for concealed or unconcealed carry upon the authority and license of another state or a valid military identification card is authorized to continue to carry a concealed or unconcealed firearm and license in Oklahoma. The license from the other state or valid military identification card must be valid. The firearm must either be carried unconcealed or concealed. Upon coming in contact with any Oklahoma peace officer, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed or unconcealed firearm pursuant to a valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit, license, or a valid military identification card issued in another state.
Coming to Oklahoma From Constitutional Carry State
The firearm must be either carried fully concealed or unconcealed. Upon coming in contact with an Oklahoma peace officer, you must disclose the fact that you’re in possession of a concealed or unconcealed firearm pursuant to the non-permitting laws of the state in which you’re a legal resident. You must present proper identification by a valid photo ID as proof that you’re a legal resident in such a non-permitting state.
Anyone who is 21 years old or older having a valid firearm license from another state may apply for a handgun license in Oklahoma immediately upon establishing a residence in Oklahoma.
States That Honor Oklahoma’s Handgun License
According to the OSBI, the following states honor Oklahoma’s handgun licenses: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin & Wyoming.
According to the OSBI, the following states do not honor Oklahoma’s handgun licenses: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, & Washington D.C.
